Underwater Acoustic Modems - ROS driver

The Robot Operating System (ROS) is an open-source framework for developing robot software. It is a popular choice within the robotics community for designing and controlling a wide range of systems. It finds numerous applications in autonomous vehicles, automation, research, simulations and prototyping.

Our ROS 1 driver for EvoLogics Underwater Acoustic Modems enables integration and control of EvoLogics acoustic devices within ROS-based systems.

Software Defined Modems - sdmch shell

SDM stands for Software Defined Modem. This optional feature for our acoustic modems is aimed at developers working with signal modulation techniques.

Along with the functionality of an EvoLogics underwater acoustic modem, a device with enabled SDM mode is able to send and receive user-defined waveforms and forward them to the user’s software for data processing.

sdmsh provides a command-based interface to access the modem’s SDM functions.
