Acoustic Modem Functional Testing Utility

Software
Terminal software with a text-based interface is required to connect and interact with the system firmware of EvoLogics acoustic devices. It allows executing commands, adjusting system settings, running scripts and custom applications.
We recommend using EvoLogics PuTTY - our customized and thoroughly tested version of the popular PuTTY terminal emulator. For connections over Ethernet, netcat is also a suitable option.
Acoustic Devices - Service Tools
PuTTY is a free, open-source terminal emulator for Windows that supports protocols such as SSH and serial connections. The EvoLogics patch of PuTTY adds additional functionality specifically for use with our devices:
Easily switch between Line Feed (LF, \n), Carriage Return (CR, \r), and Carriage Return + Line Feed (CRLF, \r\n) for proper TCP communication with our modems over Ethernet interface
Upload and download files over the serial interface - a key feature for modems with a firmware sandbox.

Important: Only the EvoLogics-modified version of PuTTY allows selecting the correct EOL marker for Ethernet connections to our acoustic devices.
Acoustic Devices - Service Tools
Netcat (often abbreviated as nc) is a lightweight, simple and versatile command-line networking utility for reading and writing data over TCP or UDP connections.
While several popular implementations of Netcat exist for Unix and Linux systems, a reliable version is also available for Windows. We recommend using the version linked below for connecting to our acoustic devices over the Ethernet interface.
