Introduction

The 7/17 series delivers full-duplex underwater communication and simultaneous positioning with our field-proven S2C acoustic technology. These are our farthest-distance models, designed for reliable, long-range data exchange. Rated for deepest waters, these devices are capable of reaching 10000 m at up to 6.9 kbit/s.

Technical Specifications

7/17 models achieve the longest ranges in our product lines. Acoustically compatible across all variants, they are available in three beam pattern versions, as PRO modems or PRO USBL transceivers, and are configurable with all of our add-on options. The PRO versions optionally support JANUS, enabling interoperability with third-party acoustic devices over NATO ANEP-87 communications standard. These low frequency devices are optimal for applications where maximum reach is critical, including extreme deep-water deployments and wide-spread sensor networks.

PRO

The largest and most powerful modems in the EvoLogics range. PRO models offer the highest transmission power and the widest selection of configuration options and add-ons. The series features our full range of models, including low-frequency, long-range, deep-rated devices for deep-sea deployments.

PRO USBL

PRO USBL transceivers are full-fledged PRO modems with a USBL antenna, enabling simultaneous positioning and advanced data delivery.

Modems

Models

The 7/17 family includes specialized variants with different acoustic coverage and depth ratings. The range is available in PRO and PRO USBL configurations with all of our add-on options, including builds rated to full-ocean depth.

7/17 is the base model with a nearly hemispherical, horizontally omnidirectional beam pattern. Its coverage is optimal for deep sea, ultra-long-range data transfers in slanted and vertical directions, such as from the seafloor to the surface, and between devices at similar depths.

7/17 dir is the version with a directional, 80-degree beam pattern. Its focused coverage reaches the longest range in near-vertical direction - linking the deepest waters to the surface with the optional full ocean depth rating.

7/17 wide is the smaller version with a hemispherical beam pattern. Its wider-area coverage is optimal for ultra-long-range data transfers in slanted and vertical directions, such as from the seafloor to the surface, and in near-horizontal directions between devices at similar depths.
